Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to uphold our high standards of pet health, safety, and satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care following PetSmart protocols.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products/services, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
• Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Assist other departments, follow company policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Requires prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair/wet environments with moderate noise.
