Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. You'll handle full grooming menus, maintain salon standards, and contribute to store success through sales and safety protocols. This hands-on role demands physical stamina, pet-handling expertise, and customer focus in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions.
- Manage appointments: greet clients, handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Promote salon sales, merchandise, and services to meet targets.
- Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; perform daily maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues, including vet transport if needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, noisy environment with animals. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
