Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds top standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer service and sales in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, maintain records, and conduct reminder calls.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), strong organization, attention to detail/safety, and superior communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment.
