Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensures pet safety, and builds lasting pet parent relationships. This hands-on role in our Winnipeg, Manitoba store combines technical grooming expertise with customer service in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise, and promote salon growth to hit sales targets.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Uphold salon hygiene through daily/end-of-day cleaning and maintenance checklists.
- Monitor pet health, respond to issues (e.g., transport to vet), and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must have computer skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication, and ability to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair exposure. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and depth perception.
