Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Woodbury, Minnesota location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, providing best-in-class salon services while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently deliver full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health and wellness solutions based on pet needs; promote merchandise and services to drive sales targets.
- Handle pet parent experiences in-person, phone, and at register: greet, answer questions, manage reservations, check-in/out, rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation through daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow company policies, and contribute to salon productivity metrics.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
