Role Overview
The Pet Groomer & Salon Trainer (Salon Experience Lead) delivers top-tier grooming services, trains emerging stylists, and ensures exceptional pet parent satisfaction. This leadership role combines hands-on grooming with team development, operational excellence, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people development: Onboard, mentor, coach bathers/stylists through certification, provide performance feedback, and identify academy candidates.
- Drive salon experience: Greet pet parents, manage bookings, recommend services, promote sales, and resolve concerns.
- Execute professional grooming: Perform baths, brushes, full grooms, nail trims, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Maintain standards: Ensure cleanliness, pet welfare, compliance with policies, and report issues like sick pets or supply needs.
- Collaborate store-wide: Assist other departments and share business insights with leadership.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years grooming experience (technical exam possible), full-time flexibility, tool proficiency, computer skills, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. Passion for pets and leadership mindset essential.
