Role Overview
The Salon Experience Lead (Groomer & Salon Trainer) delivers top-tier grooming services, trains emerging talent, and elevates the salon to deliver exceptional pet parent satisfaction. This full-time role in Houston combines hands-on grooming with leadership to build high-performing teams and drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people development: Onboard, mentor, coach bathers/stylists through certification, provide performance feedback, and identify academy candidates.
- Drive salon experience: Greet pet parents, recommend services, manage bookings, promote sales, and ensure rebookings.
- Execute grooming excellence: Perform baths, brushes, full grooms, nail trims, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Maintain operations: Uphold cleanliness, safety, report issues, and communicate needs to leadership.
- Support store-wide: Assist other departments and handle pet health emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years grooming experience (technical exam possible), full availability, tool proficiency, computer skills, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. No direct reports, but guide associate growth.
