Role Overview
The Pet Groomer & Salon Trainer (Salon Experience Lead) delivers top-tier grooming services, trains new associates, and ensures exceptional pet parent experiences. This full-time role combines hands-on grooming expertise with leadership to build high-performing salon teams and drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people development: Onboard, mentor, coach bathers and stylists through certification, provide performance feedback, and identify academy candidates.
- Deliver professional grooming: Perform full baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Enhance pet parent experience: Greet clients, manage bookings, recommend services, drive sales/promotions, and resolve concerns.
- Maintain salon excellence: Ensure cleanliness, safety, humane pet care, and operational compliance; report issues to leadership.
- Support store operations: Assist other departments, communicate business trends, and order supplies as needed.
Experience & Skills
Require 2+ years grooming experience (technical exam possible), full availability, tool proficiency, computer skills, strong communication, composure under pressure, and organizational detail-orientation. Passion for pets and leadership essential.
