Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Abbotsford, BC location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Ensure salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with pet health issues by coordinating vet transport if needed. Flexibility to support other store departments.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands: lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stand/walk extensively, with depth perception required.
