Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Acworth, Georgia, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents, provide best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and promote salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Drive results by recommending wellness solutions and achieving sales targets.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Computer proficiency essential.

- Recommend health and wellness solutions to pet parents
- Manage salon check-in/out, reservations, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety protocols
- Drive salon sales through merchandise and service promotions
- Assist in other store departments and respond to pet emergencies
