Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level position builds foundational skills while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, and promote sales to hit targets. Assist other departments, respond to pet health issues, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart seeks motivated individuals post-Salon Academy training. Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/noisy environments with pet hair. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)
Responsibilities
