Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart’s experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you’ll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding company values, store cleanliness, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations.
- Recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and promote sales to achieve targets.
- Maintain salon sanitation, handle sick/injured pets, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Requires PetSmart Salon Academy completion, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
