Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Ann Arbor, Michigan location, you'll receive hands-on training from experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to meet targets, and assist with sick/injured pets or other store duties as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment.
