Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's expert styling teams after completing our Grooming Academy. Engage pet parents, deliver top-tier salon services under supervision, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level position builds foundational grooming skills while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs and recommend wellness solutions.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions daily.
- Drive sales through merchandise recommendations and service promotions.
- Ensure pet safety, including vet transport if needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart prioritizes trainable talent. Prior grooming experience is preferred (technical exam may apply), but completion of our Salon Academy is key. You need strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Proficiency in computers a plus.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)
