Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Arlington, Texas, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists in our Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering safe grooming techniques, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, and upholding PetSmart's vision for pet wellness. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while recommending services and products.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, transporting to vets as needed; assist other store departments.
- Drive salon sales through upselling and promotions to achieve targets.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions.
