Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll work under supervision from expert stylists, mastering best-in-class techniques while ensuring pet safety and exceptional customer service. This position supports store operations, salon sales growth, and upholding our vision of pet wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Build safe, proficient grooming skills and recommend wellness solutions to pet parents.
• Handle client interactions: greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Drive sales by promoting services/merchandise and achieving salon metrics; assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
