Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with clear paths for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
• Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
• Assist in other departments, follow policies, and participate in store culture initiatives.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical capability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
