Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Aurora, Ontario, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a pathway to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services and merchandise to drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, stooping, and depth perception.
