Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Aurora, Colorado, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure pet safety by addressing health issues promptly. Assist other departments as needed and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure required.
