Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering industry-leading grooming techniques while delivering exceptional service to pet parents. Uphold our vision of pet safety, salon excellence, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and promote salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, identify sick/injured pets for vet transport, and assist across store departments. Drive sales targets by recommending wellness solutions and merchandise.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication are essential. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in wet, noisy conditions with pet hair exposure.

Responsibilities
