Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists in PetSmart's Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills, focusing on safe, high-quality services while ensuring exceptional pet parent experiences. Advance to Pet Stylist upon academy completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while maintaining client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling required including evenings/weekends/holidays.
