Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Belleville, Ontario, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on learning industry-best grooming techniques while delivering positive experiences for pets and their parents. Uphold our vision of pet safety, salon excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets. Ensure salon cleanliness and immediate action on pet health issues. Assist other departments as needed and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and strong communication. Be physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and handling pets. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Proficiency in computers and organizational detail essential.
