Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll work under expert supervision to master bath, brush, and full grooming services. This position emphasizes pet safety, exceptional customer service, and salon excellence while contributing to store goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver supervised grooming services including nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and promote salon sales.
- Handle reservations, check-ins, check-outs, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies and culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs), and schedule flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Computer proficiency required.

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and client records
