Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Bossier City, Louisiana, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers flexibility and growth in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Develop safe technical skills meeting company standards.
Customer Experience
Greet pet parents, answer questions, manage reservations, conduct check-in/out procedures, and make reminder calls. Recommend solutions and promote salon sales to achieve targets.
Operations & Safety
Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, ensure humane conditions, and take immediate action for sick/injured pets. Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair exposure. Flexible scheduling required including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
