Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Boynton Beach, Florida, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive outcomes. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers ready to build a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure pet safety—transporting sick pets to vets as needed. Assist other departments and follow all policies.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel in a wet, pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise. Depth perception required.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam possible). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Passion for pets and safety focus essential.
