Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Bozeman, Montana, you'll receive hands-on training from industry-leading professionals through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, and upholding our vision for pet safety and salon excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, provide full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while recommending services and merchandise.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, transporting to vets as needed.
- Drive salon sales, promote wellness solutions, and assist other departments to support store goals.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment.
