Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering industry-leading grooming techniques while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold our vision for pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding pet parent experiences in our Brandon, FL location.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Promote sales growth by recommending wellness solutions and merchandise. Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, and assist other departments as needed. Respond swiftly to pet health issues and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication, organizational abilities, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/noisy environments with pet hair.
