Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Brandon, Florida, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers ready to build a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets, uphold salon cleanliness and pet safety, and assist across store departments as needed. Take immediate action for sick/injured pets and follow all policies.
Daily Tasks Include:
- Delivering best-in-class salon services
- Recommending wellness solutions
- Ensuring humane conditions and sanitation
- Driving salon productivity metrics
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required; computer proficiency essential.
