Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Bridgewater, New Jersey location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role, obtained after completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, and promote sales to achieve targets. Assist in other departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a wet, pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise.
