Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations.
- Enhance pet parent experience through greetings, consultations, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and reminder calls.
- Drive salon sales by recommending merchandise, services, and wellness solutions.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist in other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Requires computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a dynamic environment with pet hair and moderate noise.
