Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and enhance pet parent experiences while upholding company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair exposure.
