Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. Under supervision from expert stylists, you'll learn best-in-class techniques for baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and full grooming services. This position emphasizes pet safety, exceptional customer service, and salon operations while upholding PetSmart's vision of superior pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver supervised grooming services per PetSmart standards, building safe technical skills.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, including end-of-day maintenance.
• Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and emergency pet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments and participate in our culture of Belonging and Recognition.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. You'll need strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, along with computer proficiency.
