Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Brownsville, Texas, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to meet targets, maintain salon cleanliness, and assist with sick/injured pets. Support other store departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication skills, ability to react under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and organizational skills with attention to detail and safety. Physical demands include standing, lifting up to 50+ pounds, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
