Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Burlington, Washington, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist across departments. Ensure immediate action for sick/injured pets and uphold company policies.

Daily Operations

• Engage pet parents in-person, phone, and at register
• Perform maintenance and end-of-day cleaning
• Upsell merchandise and services

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a wet, pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise.

Schedule & Physical Requirements

Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays. Stand, stoop, lift, and climb as needed; reasonable accommodations available.
