Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll work under expert supervision to master bath, brush, and full grooming services. This position emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, salon hygiene, and sales growth while contributing to our culture of belonging.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver supervised grooming services including nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and promote salon services/merchandise.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and immediately address pet health issues.
- Support store operations, sales targets, and team collaboration.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. You'll need physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Computer proficiency and passion for pets are essential.

- Assist other departments and follow company policies
