Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and make reminder calls.
• Recommend wellness solutions, sell merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
• Maintain salon cleanliness, identify sick/injured pets, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, stoop, and handle pets safely.
