Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Carolina, Puerto Rico, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role focuses on learning industry-best grooming techniques while ensuring positive pet parent experiences, pet safety, and salon excellence. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets, maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, and respond immediately to pet health issues. Assist other departments as needed and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling under pressure, strong communication, organizational prowess, computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
