Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee in our Cedar Hill, Texas location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in best-in-class salon services while upholding PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. Advance to Pet Stylist upon completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, reservations, and check-ins/outs. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure humane conditions. Assist in other departments and respond to pet health issues as needed.

Daily Operations

• Greet clients, answer questions, and handle reminder calls
• Perform end-of-day maintenance per checklist
• Team lift heavy pets and maintain composure under pressure

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends required. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/noisy environments with pet hair.
