Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Chandler, AZ location, you'll receive hands-on training from industry-leading Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering safe grooming techniques, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, and upholding our vision for pet safety and salon excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, pet safety, and humane conditions; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
