Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Uphold company values, policies, and safety standards daily.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required, plus proficiency in computer applications.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and handle pets in a wet, noisy setting with moderate to high noise levels and pet hair exposure.
