Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while learning industry-leading grooming techniques. This entry-level role emphasizes pet safety, customer experience, and store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure salon sanitation. Identify and address sick/injured pets promptly, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and depth perception.
