Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Cochrane, Alberta location, you'll receive hands-on training from experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Ensure salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with pet safety protocols, including vet transport if needed. Flexibility to support other store departments.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam; must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computer applications required. Excellent communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs essential.
