Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in College Station, Texas, you'll receive hands-on training from industry-leading professionals through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold pet safety, store cleanliness, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and rebooking to enhance customer experience.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and promote company values.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs required. Strong communication, organization, and pet-handling skills essential for success.
