Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Collierville, Tennessee, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure humane conditions, and promote sales to hit targets. Assist with sick/injured pets and support other store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organizational skills, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, reaching) required. Computer proficiency essential.

Physical Demands

Expect moderate noise, wet environments, pet hair, and occasional mechanical exposure. Vision for depth perception needed.
