Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while contributing to store cleanliness and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions.
• Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Drive salon sales through merchandise recommendations and rebooking services.
• Assist with sick/injured pets and support other store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
