Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's expert styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver top-tier salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and enhance pet parent satisfaction. This entry-level position supports store operations and sales goals in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Ideal candidates have strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and handling pets safely.
