Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's expert grooming teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver top-tier salon services while prioritizing pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to build a rewarding career in pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, merchandise, and services to boost sales and meet targets.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, records, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Collaborate across departments, uphold company policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
