Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll work under expert supervision to master bathing, brushing, nail trims, and full grooming services. This position emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, salon cleanliness, and driving salon sales while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver supervised full-service grooming including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and promote merchandise/services for sales growth.
• Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client records.
• Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and participate in our Belonging culture.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart Salon Academy training. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, computer skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled setting. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
