Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Delavan, Wisconsin, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Uphold salon cleanliness, promote sales, and assist across departments while following all safety protocols and company policies.
Daily Operations
- Conduct check-in/out procedures and reminder calls
- Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for sick/injured pets
- Team lift heavy pets and maintain equipment
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, and ability to thrive under pressure required. Physical demands include standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), and working in a pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise.
