Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Located in Dover, Delaware, this position offers a dynamic start to a rewarding career in pet care.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, maintain client records, and promote salon sales. Uphold cleanliness standards, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Follow all company policies for safety and service excellence.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
